This fixed it for me. no idea why, but it worked immediately after I turned off teamviewer.
in my case I dont have teamviewer and this game is the only game with the problem on my rig.
an update.
My issue was caused by origin itself LOL.
I disabled "in game origin" and now it goes full screen fine first time.
Thanks for posting your solution. I tried disabling Origin in game overlay and the game is still not entering full screen mode.
Booo. Come on EA/Bioware, patch it :-)
Oh, and windowed full screen won't work on my Lenovo Y50 because it will use the native resolution of 3840x2160 and totally kills the FPS in game.
I'm trying to runn the game at 1920x1080, fyi
