Patch 2 killed the game ( for me )

Well , before the  patch I have logged 80+ hours of the game . . Without an issue at all
But since the patch of death I can barely log 20 minuttes before the game sends my PC into hibernation. .
When I wake it up again, the game is still there but with no connection to the dragon age servers.
I try to play without being connected to DA servers but to no avail. 5-20 minuttes later it crashes again . .

What the hell Bioware/EA . . Dont you want me playing your game ?

Tried a ton of those "fix ideas" from these forums , but still no luck !

Its getting to be rather annoying!

Im at "fix it NOW or give me my money back!" attitude . . Pre-ordered deluxe edition ( over a 100$ in my country) and this is getting to feel like im being suckered out of my money.

I have Alienware 18 with 2 GTX880M graphic cards. .

Is there a way to roll back to "pre patch 2" ?

How does the offline crash manifest? If you tab out, say every 10 minutes, does the hibernation occur again. If you play in fullscreen windowed, do you see similar behaviour?

It happens at random times , but sure enough it happens anywhere from 10 minuttes to an hour , but kicker is :
When it happens once ( maybe after an hour of play) and I keep playing it happens sooner and sooner 2nd crash after 20 minuttes of play 3rd crash after 10 minuttes and so forth, untill a point where after I reload the game it crashes when taking a step. .

I tried to tap out , played in "full windowed" , Windowed , tried to manipulate graphic settings, make user files . .

It just crashes into hibernation mode . . .

Certainly unusual symptoms. If you try playing with 1 GPU do you get the same behaviour? If you monitor CPU usage does it spike shortly before the crash? Are there any other processes using a lot of CPU at that time?

Ive tried to switch primary GPU , shut one of them down , Have closed all other non essential applications, etc.

Point is it happened after the 2nd patch , because I was gaming along like the happy little gamer freak i am, and after mid-december it has been damn near impossible . .

Aye, I'm asking as most of those reporting post-patch 2 issues are related to CPU -usage, and are seeing differing symptoms. It sounds like whatever changes made in patch 2 are triggering an issue on the machine, and if that issue can be found then you should be good going forward.

You can perform a pseudo-rollback by going to Origin Games\Dragon Age Inquisition\Update and moving the Patch folder to desktop. However this comes with the very notable drawback of invalidating your saves until you update/replace the folder and might not be enough to affect your issue anyway.

It might be worth doing so, then starting a new game and using the resource monitor to check for differences.

Wait, does this result in the game going to the retail version like no-patch version?

If I remove the patch folder , The game doesnt even get to Bioware screen
If I remove the things in the patch folder : Same result.

    Im fed up . .

You shouldnt have to have a minor in computer science to be able to play a goddamn game ..

make these user logs , underclock/overclock your GPU/CPU, monitor this, disable that , try this . . etc etc

Ive got a solution for you: Try releasing a game that WORKS!

Its odd that any other game i have installed works perfect (yes even the GPU/CPU demanding ones) , without me having to tinker with anything, adjust every other setting and be ready to shoot myself in the face

Where do i go for a refund ? No refund ? Oh well then .. Here EA/Bioware take my money , let me just bend over . . Whats that ?`No reach-around?
    Worst date ever!!

Bear in my mind this is a post -after- I censored myself . . .

Thanks for trying to help EA_David. . I will check in when you (hopefully) release a Patch 3

  • I got esacly the same problem, playing very good before the patch with ultra settings and all then after the patch freeze stuttering all the time the intro is very choppy as well take ages to go from main manu to settings for esample, the FPS drop from 70 to 1 or 2 all the time as well.

The CPU usage is extremely high almost 100% all the time, I tryed to low everything and most of the suggestion I found in this site but nothing is changed, ingame cant even turn keep misco stuttering all the time that make gameplay very frustrating.

Something in this Patch 2 have trigger all this bad behaviour probably bad coding or something but I am sure that an hotfix for this MUST be a priority I didnt manage to play since the patch and nothing happen since.

Very Poor costumer care TBFH but dont worry people wont forget this kind of things.
