[PC] No Audio (voices) during cutscenes

Ok, this is strange.

I'm having no audio "stuttering" or cutting in and out like others have mentioned, but whenever a cutscene plays, the characters voices are so quiet that I can barely hear them. Almost silent. The only time I can hear them is if it's in an area where there's NO other background sounds or music.

As soon as the cutscene ends and normal gameplay resumes, I can hear voices normally again.

PC version, Windows 7 64 bit, latest directX.

Help!

I"m having  this issue as well.

During cutscenes, when the game isn't crashing, I can't hear any of the voice acting.

It sounds like they're very distant.  I'm currently reading subtitles to keep up with the story.

Doesn't seem like a whole lot of people are having this issue.

This is the only thread I have been able to find about it.

i think there are several other threads concerning this issue, if i got u right. it seems that the game tries to project the cutscene vioces thrtough a non-existing central speaker

as a solution it was suggested to force stereo mode either through windows or the game itself ..maybe this works for you

    cheers

    This is exactly it.

When a video game outputs audio in surround sound, voices come out the central speaker. If you have a stereo setup, you don't have that speaker. In the game's audio settings, you have to set dynamic range to headphones, which wil make the game force the output to stereo. You may need to restart the game after changing this setting.

I'm having the exact same issue, but changing the Dynamic Range in the game to Headphones as was suggested hasn't solved the problem for me. I've tried to find a way to implement the other solution of changing Windows to stereo, but I have no idea how to do that, and Googling it hasn't helped. Are there any other solutions anyone knows about? I've seen multiple other posts about this issue, does anyone know if EA is even aware of it?? The plot, character development, and dialogue are my favourite things about Dragon Age, so not being able to hear dialogue in every cutscene takes away everything that made me want to play the game in the first place...

  • I have subtitles turned on and for the voices I can't here, there are also no subtitles.  It doesn't appear to be a sound setting issue.  It appears to be a bug that EA needs to fix.

  • I was having this issue too! I'm playing on game pass on PC.

I have Logitech g553 headphones, but I think this should work with any logitech headset.

If you have logitech g hub installed, open that up and open your headphone settings.

For me, I have two tabs, acoustic and surround sound. In surround sound there is a toggle for "Enable surround sound".

I turned this on and the audio through my headsets completely changed for the better. Not only can I hear the voice acting in the game now, but all my audio sounds better in 3d sound.

    Hope this helps!

This is on the older side of time, I'm closing this thread to stop it from being necroed.

If you have any issues with Dragon Age: Inquisition, please make a new topic about your problems and what kind of steps you have tried to solve them.
