[PC] Research items filed as herbs after patch

Hello!

Ever since the patch (or possibly the following hotfix), my creature research items have been improperly listed under Crafting materials. This is likely also the reason why I'm unable to turn them in at the research table. It was working perfectly fine before the patch, but now I'm simply told that I have no research items to turn in. Additionally, they have also lost their tooltips (they used to say something like 'This is a creature research item' or something along those lines).

This is not a major bug, of course, but I do miss the satisfaction of getting some XP and a small damage increase against certain enemy types. Plus, I imagine it would make a noticeable difference if it's still bugged when I attempt a Nightmare playthrough.

Appreciate any tips or info 🙂

  • I think if you have a relevant Requisition the items will be moved there. For example the Venatori tomes can be used to craft the Rift Mage book.

There should also be an option to move any item to the valuables section.

This did make me look through my crafting materials thoroughly for the first time. It's interesting that a Nevarran Skull counts as a herb.....

  • I think you're right. Doing a quick search for most of the items, it seems they belong to class specialisation quests. The reason I didn't make the connection is that most of them belong to non-Mage specialisations (I'm playing Mage). They just all sound very similar to creature research items.

It's odd that I haven't found any actual creature research items, though. I wonder if I've simply unlocked most/all of the available damage bonuses?

I agree, it's odd that these items are being sorted as herbs. Now I'm inclined to think they always were and I just didn't look at them before I started searching for my "missing" research items.

Thanks for the assistance! 🙂 and merry Christmas to you, Mr. Hulegaard (just realised it must be you).

Thanks for the Merry Christmas, but I'm not Mr Hulegaard. :D

  • Oups, sorry about that. I just know Bioware have a David Hulegaard working as their community manager, so when I saw the same title with the David on your post, I figured you were him! But a merry Christmas regardless! 🙂
