[PC] The Forbidden Oasis crashes

I don't know if this will resolve the issue or not but seeing as I had the same problem with random crashes and after contacting EA support I got a solution that seems to have taken care of my crashes. And also that I got an AMD card as well so it could be related.

Anyways what they told me which I suggest you do is to add the game through AMD Catalyst Control Panel under "gaming" tab. Just follow the steps below from http://help.ea.com/no/article/setting-up-a-graphics-card-gaming-profile/:

To setup a gaming profile for AMD cards:

1. Make sure you've downloaded and installed the latest drivers for your card as well as the AMD Catalyst Control Center.
2. Right-click any free area of your desktop and select AMD Catalyst Control Center.
3. On the left-side of the AMD Catalyst Control Center, access the "Gaming" tab and click 3D Application Settings.
4. Click the Add button in the 3D Application Settings window, then browse to the .exe of the game you'd like to make a profile for.
   • For example, with Battlefield 4 you'd select "BF4.exe" within C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Battlefield 4.
5. Click Open then accept the "Do you want to override the pre-defined profile?" messages.
6. Save this profile by clicking on “BF4.exe” then Save, found in the lower-right, and accept the overwrite.
   • You may need to adjust one of your new profile's settings in order to save.

Your gaming profile is now set-up!

If you can't find the gaming tab like I couldn't then you may have to reinstall Catalyst or open up AMD Gaming Evolve first to make it appear. I do recommend optimizing the game in Gaming Evolve as well as I did that too.

Hello.

I am also experiencing the same issue.  As soon as I get into the Forbidden Oasis, my game crashes directly to the desktop and does not display any kind of error.  I tried the suggestions here on this thread but to no avail.

My PC Specs:

i7-2600 CPU @3.40 GHz

16.0 GB RAM

Windows 7 Professional 64 bit OS

AMD Radeon 6800

I am also utilizing the Beta Graphics driver that AMD put out for this game.

Does anyone have any suggestions or has anyone else experienced this issue?  Thanks!

In my game, turning off Antialiasing (both types) fixed this issue.

Bump to the top. I have the same problem. First playthrough, I had no issues with Forbidden Oasis. Now, I cannot play it. If I wonder anywhere off the initial campsite on the map, I exit out to Windows with no error. None of the suggestions in this thread helped me either.

Someone from EA please answer. Without giving away spoilers, there are parts of Forbidden Oasis that are important to the game, and expecting people to ignore this is unacceptable for a game at this pricepoint.

after the las update i get the same error,and it is only in the oasis the res of the maps work fine
