So, since no fix for this topic I just requested a refund of ONLY the jaws of hakon dlc. They were able to handle the refund request through live chat with just the info from my purchase order. I expected some kind of flak or runaround but nope just a quick friendly chat and refund. They sure have stepped up their customer service handling since last year.
it's patch 11 now, still not fixed. disappointed

@Caos76 There are no more patches or content intended for this game, the final (extra) patch was released some time ago.
What platform are you on? If PC, do you meet the system requirements and have your settings (especially graphics) set to a level that your computer can handle? Have you tried repairing the game? Are you using any mods? What have you tried to fix the issue?

TY for your quickly answer. Yes, I'm a PC platform. I had meet the system requirements and my compute can handle the game in ultra graphics option. I had lauch the game in ultra, middle, low, the problem persist.. I have tried to repairing the game with Origin but no change. I dont use mod.
I have searched a fix for my issue, but nothing nothing interesting execpt "Jump or overthrow the freezing characters" (is not a fix...).

@Caos76 First thing that stands out in your dxdiag is that your Nvidia drivers are from last year. This seems to be the latest driver for your system (French language). Please see Fred's accepted solution on this sticky about doing a clean install of GPU drivers.
That may not fix your issue, but keeping your drivers up to date is generally a good idea.
Unfortunately the stuck characters issue does seem to effect some random people, and the "jump" fix is the only thing I know of that helps.
@Leora85 I proceeded to a clean install and my Nvidia drivers are now up to date but the issue isn't fix.
I can "jump" my frezzing character to fix it but ennemis are also affected. For unfrezzing this PNJ I have to overthow them. This break the game experience. If "jump" is the only one fix, I will not continue to play at DA:I.

Is it only sword and shield warriors freezing on you? If so check your ability upgrades. One of them prevents them form moving while blocking and, they will block so long as you are in combat or, until they run out of stamina. That's a flaw in the AI that they don't stop blocking when the enemy they were blocking dies. Changing to the other upgrade that boosts the armor of the whole party helps as does going into tac cam for a moment and telling them to attack another enemy.

@Tektuktalay Even if they do read these posts, no more updates or patches are planned. At most we are telling them what to be very careful of not having happen again in DA4 and, finding our own solutions. Maybe DA4 will be less buggy and/or more easily modded, both would be welcome I think.
Frostbite is a great engine just maybe not the best one for Dragon Age. Unreal might be a better choice for DA4, it is easy to modify to create any experience the devs want and, it's compatible for PC, Mac, Linux and most consoles. I've Alpha tested other games on that engine and, it is pretty easy to work on, not as easy as say Game Maker, but then it has a lot more tools and more flexibility than Game Maker or even Unity (and it's more cost effective than Unity.)
I just reinstalled the game, with up to date drivers, a rig that easily handles the game and no addons.
I get the bug in about every 3rd fight or so.
It's so bad, it's pathetic.
It pretty much makes it impossible to enjoy combat, when I so often have to take steps to avoid combat breaking so i can get back to focus on fighting.
It constantly pulls me out of being immersed in what's happening and forces me to think of the game being a buggy mess.I've bought all DA games so far, and quality has just gone steadily downhill.
1 was awesome, 2 was rushed and inferior, 3 is a broken mess of a console port on PC.
Nothing speaks to buying the 4th one, when it comes out.
For shame, Bioware. For shame.
