Since 5/5(before I downloaded Black Emporium) I've been having a problem with some characters freezing in tactical camera during battle. It was a single character until today when I had two freeze in a battle. They always unfreeze at the end of the battle(if I survive). I can select them but I can't control them. I've been playing pretty much every day since the game came out and this is the first time I've had a significant problem.
I have the exact same problem. I bought DAI this May with the DLC, because I recently upgraded my PC. So in order to run the game Origin automatically patched my game to newest version (Patch 7). It seems odd that EA simply ignore that bug that comes with this patch. It has been more than one month since the release of the patch, but no hotfix so far.
Same issue here although shifting out of tactical doesn't work for me. After a range attack the character will sometimes unfreeze. drinking a potion etc doesn't work (PC). Also, occasionally, a character cannot be manually revised, either by mouse or the F key. The cursor will not change to a hand nor will the interact command show.
Yes, Patch 7 seems to have introduced a significant problem with Party Members engaged in mêlée combat.
Characters "freeze" after defeating their current foe. Even selecting them as the controlled character and issuing them orders or assigning them targets doesn't unfreeze them. Only making them "Jump" seems to restore their ability to act.

i'm playing on pc (Windows 7) and its very annoying especially when you can't jump to fix the frozen ones in tactical camera. please get rid this bug ASAP! You don't want 2 of your toons freezing at the same time when fighting a high dragon in nightmare mode baby
And a lot of people in my dragon age facebook group have this problem too
Same here. Stopped playing the game for a month, checked it out with the latest patch and game is unplayable with the freezing.
Only solution I have found is to select the frozen character and have them jump. Really annoying, when you lose your melee player it screws the whole game experience. Might have to give up playing again until this is fixed.

I stopped playing because of this bug : each encounter I get multiple freezing issues which can be resolved only by jumping or disengaging , making combat even more of a frustrating mess than before ( I understand this bug has been introduced with a recent patch : it never happened in my first playthrough).
Any word from ea/bioware ? is there a new patch coming that may address this game breaking bug ?
is it possible to install/play the sp dlcs without installing the patch (which one?) that causes this bug ?
