Playing with fire bug, it could be mantle.

Ok so i started this quest (playing with fire) and when i got to the statue where you have to run around it 3 times clockwise it would never trigger the grandfather to appear and i ran around this statue 40 - 50 times (not lying). At this point in time i was running the game in Mantle using my AMD R9 270X 4GB Vram, so after running around the statue so many times i thought to myself why not try it in DirectX mode so i did this relaunched the game ran around the statue 3 times clockwise and YAY the grandfather appeared, now i'm wondering did this really work because of the change from mantle to directX or maybe i just got luckly.

Thoughts?

    For 2 of my characters (dwarfen warrior & human mage) the grandfather event wasn't triggered either with millions of tries.

    The third runthrough (human rogue) had luck and was capable of triggering the event properly without any issues.

    Never identified the possible cause.

    I'm also using a human warrior and this quest is broken for me.

    The pillar has vegetation that gets in the way, it seems?

    Also, my card is only capable of running the game in Direct X 11, I don't even have "mantle" as an option.

    Edit:  User Yentsee found a fix for this quest: Circle the statue on horseback 3 times and it will work.  Seems to work every time.

    With the three forum comments inside of 5 minutes, before finding time to deny the possibility, that had the "feel" of serious personal impatience.  Had there been any duplicates, instead of just a fast reader zooming through searched threads, I jumped to unwarranted conclusions.  My apologies.

    @Gorath_The_Elder:  I'm not sure who you're talking to or what you're trying to say.  Also, if we're speaking about the Answer HQ's terms of service, where is the TOS?

    Scroll to the bottom of any page in ANSWER HQ and it's at the bottom right.  You may also want to view the amended content above, OK?
