Problem accessing dragonagekeep.com

Hey there,

i've got a problem accessing dragonagekeep.com. There is always the message: an error occurred, please refresh an try again.

I already contacted the EA-Support and tried to work it out, clearing the Browser and Java cache.

But the message remains the same.

I was told this is a known error that would be fixed with the next Dragon Age Inquisition Patch and that i should post about this in the forum :-)

If there is anyone that got another workaround, i would be pleased to know ;-)

    the keep is suddenly working and now i can also import my individual World Settings in Dragon Age Inquisition

  • Patches to DAI would have ZERO effect on accessing the DA Keep, so no idea why anyone would say that.  🤒

    More helpfully to you, this sounds like a browser issue.

    Have you tried using a different browser than your normal one?

    If not, do.  If so, what happened?

    You're talking about actually loading the tapestry I assume, after you log in and verify your account. Mine pops that error now and then too but, if I ignore it and wait, the tapestry loads - just my high latency connection when it isn't at top speed. I don't get the error at 12Mbps and 700ms but, i do at 1Mbps and 1000+ ms. If you have a slow or high latency connection try just waiting for the tapestry to load in spite of the error message.

    i also was skeptikal about this sugestion, but he wrote that to me so i assumed there would be somehow a connection between the keep and the game.

    I tried different browers and different devices. i.e. Firefox, Chrome and Edge on my Windows 10 PC, Chrome on my Android Phone and Silk on my Amazon Tablet.

    The message remains the same, so i assumed it either has to be a server or an account issue.

    Thats why i contacted the support for it.

    And yes the message comes, when the keep tries to load the tapestry. I've got a 50Mbit Downstream connection so i assume that should not be the problem.

  • hello again,

    i figured out, that the problem is related to my ISP. It worked at my friends house, even with my android phone over Wifi. Now at home again, the problem is back.

    To be sure, i tested it my phone over Wifi at Home -> Error

    after that i switched to my mobile data connection ->works just fine

    maybe this helps nailing down the problem.

    Connection speed is not so much the problem as latency, you could have speeds of 100Gbps and a latency of 1000 ms or more and things would time out and fail to load.

    That aside, in case that isn't the problem, do you have a router and/or use a firewall? if so check for blocked ports and applications. You may need to specifically allow the Keep or Origin in your firewall. For the ports needed you will have to ask EA Support as I don't know them.

    @St0neyy Thanks for coming back with the info. Just in case we see more of these, what's your location and ISP? Have you noticed any issues with any other sites? 

    Is there ever an error code or is it just the text that you posted above?

  • Hi David,

    my location is Germany and my ISP is Unitymedia.

    There is a specialty about Unitymedia:

    They only provide a distinct IPv6 Address. In case the Target doesn't support IPv6 Addresses, they translate my Address to IPv4 on a Gateway using NAT.

    Because of this solution it is possible that multiple users are using the same IPv4 address.

    Sometimes this constellation causes troubles.

    But at the moment there are  no further Sites i know of causing troubles.

    There is only the Message i posted above.

    I dont know the exact wording in the English message as i translated the german message i received to english.
