@JerichoGirlThank you for the very detailed post.
One thing that might help is to fully shut down the console for about 10 seconds, then check again once it restarts.
So, I had a huge and detailed account of all that I tested written up, but somehow I got logged out (possibly because I wrote it over the course of a few hours) and the site ate my post when I went to submit. I apologize for not going as into detail this time, but as you can imagine I no longer have the minute details memorized. The most important stuff is still fresh on my mind, though, and honestly what it mostly amounted to is I got four characters to roughly the same exact spot in the game, synced them all with the Golden Nug and acquired the stable at Haven, then tested them.
The PS4 was off from around 11am until 4:20pm. When I started it back up, I tested various saves including a male human mage, a male human dagger-rogue, and two female elven archers. Only one of these exhibited the sttuter/freeze while running around Haven, and it was my original female elven archer. I actually created a new one and played through until they were both at the same stage of the game (hence this took so long), and the new one is fine. Meanwhile, the one which seems bugged wasn't until post-patch (I'd have noticed something as jarring as stopping for a second mid-run constantly). Obviously, since she's fairly early on in the game, I can always screenshot my sliders in the Black Emporium and just recreate her if it proves to be a big problem. But it does still feel like something that should be mentioned since it's a new glitch to me. (According to one of my friends who also plays Inquisiton on PS4, however, she's had this issue on occasion pre-patch and it would only ever effect random characters, not all of them. So it may just be an unfortunate case of a new save on an old character becoming affected.)
That said, all four of these characters are showing the issues with sound and animation sync during battle, though since they're low-level characters without very flashy powers it's not a constant or annoying/hindering problem yet like it was for my endgame mage. Again, I'd never really experienced issues like this aside from once in a very rare while (if I'd been playing for several hours in a very graphics-intense area, for example) until post-patch, when they hit my mage playthrough.
Also worth note is that I'm noticing a ton of late pop-in graphics now which I used to not experience. Everything from NPCs to the dirt texture on the ground in Haven is showing this issue. Obviously, it used to occur in the more graphics-intense areas, but I don't remember it ever happening in Haven or out in the open in the Hinterlands and now it's fairly constant.
- 9 years agoSo I'm having the same problem , is there any way to fix this? I'm just very sad about this ... It's 2017 and they didn't fix this.
