Are there any updates for your PS4? Perhaps it needs a proper restart, too.
I tried checking for updates (there are none), and I tried turning it off and back on again.
Unless you mean something else by 'proper restart'?- EA_David11 years ago

As in choosing to shut down the machine rather than put it in standy.
Yeah, I just tried that, and it still doesn't work.
The error code is CE-34878-0, if that helps at all.

In that case please take the following steps:
Step 1: Close the application, install the latest system software and game update, and restart the system.
Step 2: If a PS Camera is connected to the system, remove it and reboot the system, then go to [Settings] > [User] > [Login Settings] and turn "Enable Face Recognition" OFF.
Step 3: If you have upgraded the Hard Disk Drive (HDD) in your console, please re-install the original HDD.
Step 4: If the error occurs again, back up your saved data, and then go to [Settings] > [Initialization] and choose [Initialize PS4].
Step 5: If the error continues and occurs with every application, or as soon as the application starts, please contact PlayStation Support.

Should that work, or is the playstation prescribed method the only way of dealing with this issue? Even with my stuff backed up, I feel uneasy deleting all of my data.
