Re: Been playing DA:O fine for months, today i get the message: "Could not activate".

Any update on this? Even if its just to say in what area the problem lies?

    The problem is with EA's DRM, there is actually nothing wrong with the game files.

    I wish more people will stop giving more money to anything affiliated with EA since all they seem to care is about our money. This will be the last game I will be buying from anything affiliated with EA.

    This level of customer service is beyond abysmal.

    Just to give you an update on this: This should work again for the majority of players. Only a few are not able to play their game yet and we are still investigating why. It is possible that we will reach out to some of the players who posted in [Information Request] "We could not activate DisplayName field missing from registry" Error directly to investigate the issue further. If we do that I will let the affected players know beforehand via PM.

    @eaursula, What, exactly, "should work again"?  What do I have to do on my end?

    I think she means that most people aren't having this problem, which I can believe, since neither AnswersHQ nor the BSN has exploded like it would if it were more widespread.

    Unfortunately for us, that likely makes fixing it a lower priority.

    Before I take a chance and let Origin mess with any of my games again, I'd like to hear that EA says it's safe for me to go back on-line (been playing other games with Origin in "off-line" mode) and allow it to do whatever it needs to to fix this.  And really hoping it's not another huge download and reinstall.
