You should be able to start the game with DirectX.  I only get the black screen with mantle. Delete your C:\Users\PC-Name\Documents\BioWare\Dragon Age Inquisition\Save\profileoptions file should default it back to directx setting.  Be warned my game runs like **bleep** with my 4 gpus in DirectX.  I am convined the game would have a chance of running on mantle but I simply just get a blank black screen and then have to delete said profile files in order to get the game to even load back up.  I believe its an issue because the game starts windowed and then launched to fullscreen and crossfire doesnt work in windowed?  I've tried it all but from the people that responded to the thread, it looks like Im just stuck waiting for a patch until I can play this game.  Seems like us computer players get the shaft often these days.
