Re: DA:I freezes at startup after Patch 9 [PC]

Hi guys!

A bit of an update here. Will edit my first post as well.

From what 'I could tell, it would apepar as though my save files got somehow corrupted. What I can add to that is that those saves were made in a period in which the connection to DA servers was down. Not sure if that had anything to do with it... (Connection went down -> still played -> saved some -> Exited to menu -> Connected to Dragon Age servers -> exited games ... or something of the sorts...).

I got the idea from another thread who mentioned that their game crashed since the Dark Emporium.

I apologize in advance for the wall of text but maybe it would offer some info on my "Troubleshooting"

===== Troubleshooting===========

So... things done differently:

- purchased and installed Descent (I doubt it has any relevance but I will add it here just in case)

- Ran Origin as admin

- Ran a Game repair

-> tried to start the game and pressed Continue in the menu (it was a crestwood save)  -> NADA. Game hung after loading black screen

- closed game with task manager

- opened game and loaded a Skyhold save from 10h before last one  -> SUCCESSS! It is alive!

- opened the menu and chose to load the latest Quicksave (the latest Crestwood save) -> Game hung again. <- so... savegame issue perhaps?

- closed game with task manager

- opened game and loaded a Skyhold save from 2h before last one  -> SUCCESSS! It is alive!

- assigned war table missions. Went to Crestwood -> Success. Arrived in Crestwood safely 🙂) (no crash)

- Saved game normally -> Created test save

- Exited game normally

- Started the game, loaded the Test Save   -> SUCCESSS! It is alive!

- Quicksaved

- Exited game normally

- Started the game and chose Continue (quicksave generated after tests)   -> SUCCESSS! It is alive

So... note to self. Careful with saves you do while the game is not connected to Bioware network?
