Re: DA:I Pre-load language

Some question, only my Origin client is using Italian language, but I want Dragon Age: Inquisition in English, will I have it with this preload?

Seen as this post got completely ignored, I've decided to contact EA support.

A lovable (for real, no sarcasm, she was very kind) advisor answered my call telling me that "Origin is region locked and, for this reason, I would get the game in Italian, considered that I bought it in Italy".

After that sentence, an holy war ensued, involving links and screenshots, as I was EXTREMELY upset by the aforementioned statement, as the ITALIAN store page of DA:I clearly stated that the version I bought supported all the languages of the global edition (that it is EN, ES, FR, DE, IT and so on).

After several minutes of bloodshed we reached a stalemate due to the fact that the (lovable) advisor wasn't able to read italian.

Anyway, as I was EXTREMELY dubious that EA/Bioware had region locked the language on the global version, considered that when a language is excluded from a specific region locked version it is CLEARLY underlined in the store page,  I checked the file downloaded in the pre-load and I've seen, so far, that every single one of them (when applicable) sports the EN_GB tag.

So it seems that when preloading the global version the client follows the language set in Origin, wich is completely fine by me. It also seems that the version you can buy in Italy, as I suppose in all the other EU countries, minus Poland, is indeed the global one, as stated in the store page, and therefore supports all the languages indicated in the same page.

Hope to get some official confirmation from EA reps. on this forum.

To get the English version of the game, please make sure that your Origin client is set to English before you start the installation (top left Origin menu, Application Settings - General). This should install the game in English as the Italian version of the game does have English included.

    I suspected as much. Thanks.
