Re: DAO will not launch

Hi @holger1405, thanks for replying!

I've gone through and tried your suggestions for the audio and graphics drivers, but sadly there is no change. The game still fails to launch or provide any error messages.

If you or others have any further suggestions, please do let me know! I feel like this is something to do with this game in particular, as I am easily able to play older and much newer games on this system. There is probably something very obvious that I am missing...

    It's about 7 years old. Not the newest, but for sure able to play this 12 year old game. Edit: and no, I have not reinstalled Windows recently.

    For fun I decided to dig out my disc copy of Dragon Age Origins (Standard edition). I installed it and it ran totally fine. Great, this proves that it does run on my machine, but doesn't solve my problem of wanting to play the whole game with the DLC that I paid for. To test it I unistalled it again and reinstalled the Ultimate Edition from Origin again (which takes forever because the internet is slow here), and came across the same error of nothing happening. So this problem is surely related to the Origin Ultimate Edition version or the DLC.

    I've attached my DXDiag again as requested.

    I would love to replay this game, it just doesn't make sense to me that is isn't working.

    Oh My God I finally got it to work! I tried using -3xA'Lu©κy the disappearing act's LAA .exe from Steam, and it works fine! I didn't try this fix before because it didn't seem relevant, but it was what I needed all along.

    Omg please help, I am trying to launch from steam, without any mods or anything, but it just won't work. I don't know what's wrong
