Re: Dragon Age: Inquisition does not start (PC)

I saw nothing untoward in Manawaker's report, however, I saw an outdated driver in the next one:

  Driver Date/Size: 11/21/2014 10:44:20, 1348928 bytes
    WHQL Logo'd: Yes
    WHQL Date Stamp:

The Omega Net drivers are almost always a couple of months or so behind AMD, while the Webmaster there removes various "no update" flags that are inserted to give various OEMs control over drivers, which typically ends up causing greater delays than only 6-8 weeks for the owners of hardware from those particular manufacturers.

If that had been your situation, in future you will would have wanted to choose a different AMD partner rather than the brand you had at present (for everyone else seeing this, follow the link to see more about Omega Net).

Regarding the confusion of AMD also choosing the name "Omega", I don't understand why it's dated FOUR months ago.

So what no response even when I clarify I have the official and latest Amd driver?

  • If it is refusing to launch because it thinks there's an update missing, the easiest way to see it to open Oigin, be sure you click "remember me" when you log in.  When Origin comes up, click on the Origin tab to get the menu.  Select Go Offline --- Do not click on Log Off, just Go Offline. Origin will go into Offline mode without you having to disconnect from the internet.

Once Origin is offline, if the game is only messed up because Origin wants to install a patch, then the tile should once again be colourful and you should have the Play option when you mouse over it.

    :cathappy:

If it does not, then there is something wrong with the installation of the game itself, or your machine has some sort of configuration issue.

If you will post again to let me know the results, I'd appreciate it.  I can then also give you some suggestions for how get Origin to fix itself so you can run the game.

    Good luck!

Quick Edit -- PS -- with any of Origin's games that have a multiplayer element, if they are not updated with the current patch, Origin will NOT let you play while logged in.  (Being offline in Origin disables all of the online features such as importing a custom world if you start a new game, and accessing multiplayer.

I suspect it's so that it's far, far less difficult to maintain access for everyone if you require them all to be on the same patch version.

    Hi!

My game is not working as you describe. I have not beeen able to play it online for at lest two patches now. I could play in offline mode however. But the latest patch have stopped me from doing even that. Now I cant even play it in offline mode. You say it is not a orgin /patch problem if I cant play in offline mode. but It has to be as nothing on my computer or the game has changed exept their patch. Have tried a lot of things. need help.

    2)  There are a bunch of things to be tried listed in this thread, have you gone through all of them??
