- Anonymous11 years agoi used paypal and the refund was straight away. im just gonna wait 2-3 days for it to show up on my CC via paypal. shouldnt be an issue. shame - took the day off to play the game yesterday too. funny thing is the TRIAL worked!! then i uninstall the trial and buy the game - and it didnt work...! amazing!
- Anonymous11 years agoI believe it has something to do with the game looking in the wrong place for it's registry keys. The key it creates for the game files is: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\BioWare\Dragon Age Inquisition The key it creates for Origin is: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Origin Games\1032112 If you change the 1032112 in the previous key to 1018721 (the number for Dragon Age Inquisition Digital Deluxe Edition) the error then actually says the correct name rather than DisplayName field missing in registry. Someone at EA needs to check how the registry is being referenced by both Dragon Age Inqusition and Origin itself and find exactly where this discrepancy is happening and what can be done to resolve it. It most likely will require a patch for the game or a server-side update of where Origin looks to activate the game.
- Anonymous11 years agoEven then, we'll still have to wait for someone that actually works for EA to do something. I find it kind of odd that there hasn't been any official word on this error when there are so many others reporting the same thing.
- Anonymous11 years agoSearching the Origin ctid for Dragon Age Inquisition GOTY in the registry yields this key HKEY_USERS\<here is your user SID for Windows>\Software\Electronic Arts\EA Core\Staging\1032112 In that registry key there is a field with my product key. My assumption is that Origin is using the 7 digit ID for the base or deluxe version of the game when attempting to activate it. It is searching for the wrong registry keys, not finding them, and failing. If anyone from EA is reading this please forward it to whatever team is responsible for the Origin activation of the games. I'm pretty sure this is the issue here, Origin is looking for the ID of the wrong game and not the 1032112 for DAI GOTY.
- Anonymous11 years agoI had the same problem. Bought and downloaded this morning and couldnt play. I didnt change anything and was able to start the game. Ingame the connection to the DA-Server failed, but the game itself worked for me.
- Anonymous11 years agoSame here, it seems it is finally working without doing anything, which is a great point !
- Anonymous11 years agoYeah, we seem to have progressed a step further; the game now launches but can't connect to the DA server ingame which is still very bad because of Keep. Hopefully it'll get fixed soon as well
- EA_David11 years agoCommunity Admin Thanks for the reports. Can I check is anyone still experiencing the activation issue?
For everyone who was experiencing the issue, but who now able to pass this stage, are you still unable to connect the game online?
 Thank you.
- Anonymous11 years agoYeah it still keeps disconnecting from the servers.
- Anonymous11 years agoThe game launches now, but we're unable to connect with the Dragon Age servers. Which is what keeps me from playing, as I would love to use Dragon Age : Keep.
- EA_David11 years agoCommunity Admin @ng101A @TenxsThank you for the posts. I want to check on the wording of your response. Can you go online, even temporarily, or are you prevented from any online access? Can you post the exact wording of the error message?
- Anonymous11 years agoin the main menu it says that it's connecting to the Dragon Age servers, and after a few seconds of that you get an error message window saying "connection to the Dragon Age servers lost." You can then try the log in button in the bottom left where it says you are not connected and therefore cannot use Keep or multiplayer but that just leads to the same.
- Same here, finally managed to activate the game but "connection to the Dragon Age servers lost." each time I try to log in.
- Anonymous11 years agoCan't connect to the DA servers, but at least I can play the game. 👍
- Anonymous11 years agoi'll wait for my refund to come in before i repurchase.. looks like things are almost working....
- Anonymous11 years agoI went to use Wireshark and take a .pcap of it failing to connect to the servers for you all but it actually let me connect. Can anyone else confirm that it is working now? I was able to launch multiplayer and it said my proper Origin name up in the corner and everything.
- Anonymous11 years agoYes, it seems to be working now. Connects and Keep is enabled. Hopefully it'll stay that way from now :P
- Yeah I'd also like another confirmation or two more from people who had trouble with the errors before I buy the game again after having gotten a refund from the first one. Not having to do the 40gb download a fourth time for nothing would be nice.
- Everything is working for me now! I just got home, so I haven't been able to try it since yesterday. Whew.
- Everything is working for me now.
- EA_David11 years agoCommunity Admin Thank you for the reports everyone, this appears to be resolved now. If anyone starts encountering this or a similar issue in the future, please create a new thread.
Thanks again and sorry for the inconvenience caused,
