Did you download the latest GTX 860m driver and tried to install it? I know that ASUS told you that yours was-even though it is not- the latest but I was curious what would happen if you were to take to matters in your own hands. By the way do not do a clean install just in case so that you can rollback.

Yes I did. I've tried every driver on their website(s) as well as reinstall my OS and doing a full factory reset. What they told me seems to be correct.
