No worries, happens to all of us. 😉

It is a null pointer read access violation, meaning there is a attempt to read from an memory address that is blocked by Windows itself or that the pointer is just completely invalid.
The problem is that this can have any number of reasons.

First thing that comes to mind is the newest Physics version.

    1. Go to your "C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Dragon Age" folder.
(I have the game on Steam, so I can't tell you the exact location, but somewhere in the DA folder, probably under "__Installer" should be a "PhysX_9.09.0408_SystemSoftware.exe".)
    2. Run the exe as an administrator. (Right click the exe > Run as Administrator).
    3. Restart the Computer > Test.

I had to run a search but was able to find the file.  ran as admin, rebooted, tested game; same result where the game closed as soon as the new game splashscreen started to load.

I then looked at programs through control panel and found I had two versions of PhysX loaded. So, I unloaded both, reloaded 9.09.0408 and got the same result. I then unloaded 9.09.0408 and loaded 9.19.0218. Still got same result.  (reboots were done after each reload.)  At the moment I have 9.19.0218 loaded.

All installs were run as admin; system was rebooted each time the software was installed.

Please run the 9.09.0408 version that comes with the game.

Then preform a clean boot and test the Game in clean boot mode.

Make sure your virus scanner and other security software and also Afterburner and similar software is disabled.

Make also sure that your GPU & CPU are not overclocked.

GPU and CPU are not overclocked

    Uninstalled 9.19.0218 and rebooted

    Reinstalled 9.09.0408 and rebooted

performed clean boot and disabled virus scanner

    tested game; issue remains

Ok, now we work our way from the top to the bottom.

    • Hit Windows key and X.
    • Choose either “PowerShell (Administrator)” or “Command prompt (Administrator),” whichever option is offered.
    • Inside the PowerShell or CMD, enter “DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Checkhealth” without quotes. > ENTER.
    • If errors are found, notify us. If no errors were found reaped steps 1 & 2.
    • Inside the PowerShell or CMD, enter “DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth” without quotes. > ENTER.
    • The system will start validating soon. If it throws an error, please list it here.
    • After it reaches 100%, hit Windows key and X again.
    • Again, choose “PowerShell (Administrator)” or “Command Prompt (Administrator)”
    • Inside the PowerShell or CMD, enter “sfc /scannow” without quotes. >ENTER.
    • Post the message you receive at the end of the processes here.

    • Test.
