Same problem, apparently I am "she" dressed as a man complete with beard if you listen to the NPC's talking to me.
The interface/combat controls just plain suck period. No auto walking over to loot when you click on it. The "T" key tactical camera is just plain stupid and makes combat far less enjoyable than all of the previous DA games.
No auto melee attack for the character you are controlling so its mouse or "R" key continous mashing.....
So far I have to say this is not a success and its back to Mordor for me. Horrible launch EA.
Oh and I am using the PC version of the game for reference.
