Re: Some basic questions about Inquisition?

Your companions will passively level, whether you bring them with you or not. They'll usually be about half a level behind your inquisitor.

You can manually choose their skills, or use the Auto-level button to let the game take care of them. There's also a relatively cheap item you can buy before long that'll let you respec any characters, should you so desire.

You do need to update their armour/weapons as you play, but if you're playing on a lower difficulty(normal/easy) you can usually just use whatever drops in the world, rather than worrying about crafting custom sets for everyone.

To swap weapons you need to enter the menu, yes.

Thanks for the answer. I really appreciate it. I was hoping I wouldn't have to worry about my companions,

but I don't want them walking around with level 1 gear. I guess upgrading it won't be too painful.

I have two more questions if you would be so kind? Can you trade armor and weapons freely with your companions? And, do you have to refill their health potions? Thanks.

You can remove armor and give it to a companion as long as they fulfill the requirements. Different classes wear different armor types, for instance.

The basic health potions (the red ones) are shared and refill automatically when you go to a rest area (like a camp). Other potions have to be refilled manually at camp or in your home base.
