Right click on mouse isn't functioning.

Hi! I've wanted to get into Dragon Age for years and since it went on sale with the Steam Summer Sale, I asked my friend which one I should start with (cause I know virtually nothing) and she recommended I just start with the beginning. So, here I am trying to play the game, all excited, and after the first cut scene, my mouse won't click on anything! It says the game is paused (showing the pause function in the tutorial) and telling me to use the right mouse button to interact with objects but nothing is working. I know my computer is capable of running the game--the opening cut scenes were smooth and even the first interaction/conversation was smooth, but then I can't play the dang game!

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.
