Using Direct X 10 with Dragon Age: Inquisition

In my settings it says I'm locked at Direct3D 11.  I would like to use 10 to improve performance and the system requirements say DirectX 10 is supported.  How can I use DirectX 10 with DA:I?  Also, I...

It doesn't install dxx10 if you have dx11. Gives the message 'A newer version of directx present'

That is only when you do not use the full version install.  All of them are inter-version compatible with one another.
