After deciding whether or not to partner up with the sentinels, there are two locked doors in the main room (you can't go back), so I proceeded to go east. I keep going until I noticed there was a sentinel on the ground where supplies are replenished and such. However, after that point I'm stuck. I read FAQs, watched videos and apparently up until this point, there should be a lever hidden for the party to pull to continue to the well of sorrow. 

For some reason, for me at least, there's nothing there. I don't know whether it's because I'm missing something? Or went the wrong way, but would like help if possible!

In order to get to the Well of Sorrow you have to follow the guide in the room who walks you to the door.  There is a person there who tells you to follow them, and they open and unlock all the doors for you.  

I'm also stuck on this quest. I was following the person, but they seem to disappear after we kill the Red Templar dudes in the first room. Any advice?

I am having the same problem.

The lever is not there and also the search function for hidden things is not activating one I enter the room. I can stand right in front on the wall where the lever should be and push 'V' and nothing happens.

The elven guard with the book stays in the first room and is gone if I return to it.

I tried to reload a previous save. I even went back to the Arbor Wilds and played through the whole temple again. Still the level doesn't appear.

Hope there is a solution, right now this is pretty game breaking. I see no other way to get past this.

I am havign the same problem.  I follow the sentinel through the first fight and then he never moves from the room  I try walking into him to puch hium and he just spins in little circles.  Nothing makes him move.  I have looked all around that room and nothing pings.  I know the door will open but even then, nada.  Dead in the water at this point as I can not progress any further

same here. I am currently reinstalling. Has anybody here managed to get around this?

I ended up stopping for a day because I was so annoyed and then I went through all the rooms again and one of the other guys popped back up, I killed him and got the missing piece.  The one that originally clitched was still there

You need to follow the guy with the book and basically ignore the room ahead, he doesn't go into it. He takes a back route round the red templars using a sliding door in the first room (Left of the petitioner's chamber. Don't know if door remains open... but there is an autosave after deciding.
