Why is Origin launcher reverting to three year old game saves and settings?

My Origin launcher has defaulted back to 2014 settings and saves, in a different location on my computer, rather than the most current 2017 saves and settings I was using yesterday.  Please help me revert it back, the info is still on my computer, the launcher's path to the files has just changed overnight.  I have had an EA help window open for well over an hour now and no response, so great customer service, there, thanks.
