Wont update patch#6

Ensure that the Origin application is not set to run under any compatibility modes.  If you have it running as if its Vista then Origin will read the computer is Vista and not Windows 7.

I found a solution on the Origin Forums.  Go to Origin Application Settings and go to Advanced.  Select Safe Mode Downloading and restart Origin.  It will update this time although slowly.  It is the only thing I have seen that works.

The speed has been abysmally slow, harking back to the dark days of downloading files in 1990 on a 56k modem. I checked everything on my end, including opening ports and checking firewall settings.

It has crashed/failed several times.

The slowest speed I clocked was 25 BITS per second, though it seems to usually level out around 32 kb/s. When I can get it to start.

And now it fails constantly.

Even the "Submit Error Report" has failed.

*slow clap*

Am having this same problem. I've gotten about 10% in, and then it keeps stopping. And when it starts back up again, it starts back at 0! They seriously shouldn't make it where you can't play unless you update. Because it looks like there's at least 35 people that aren't playing for however long it takes for the issue to be resolved, or until they find something else to play because they've been unable to play this. 

If you still have problems down,loading patch try this in origin settings-> advanced-> safe mode downloading....its realy, really slow but its finally patching -_-. If it was already here, sorry for repeating this :D

Thank God I'm not the only one with this problem.  I was really worried it was something wrong with my computer or my internet connection.  Not only is it taking forever when it actually works, but it slows my computer WAY down to where I literally cannot run anything else while downloading the patch.

Bright side is that I'm finally at around 30%, so maybe I'll actually be able to play the game sometime after dinner tonight...

EDIT:  Not sure why it suddenly decided to work, but it fully downloaded in a matter of minutes once I shut down my internet browser.  I'm about to test the game now to see if this stupid patch was even worth it.

I can't get it to do anything can't play...doesn't even do anything when I click update. other games seem to working fine.

No not the only one with the problem.  After waiting nearly 45 minutes for a chat I did the callback thing, and the woman that called back said they're getting a ton of calls about this. Apparently it's not working for most people.   (I didn't even know about the patch today, I thought it was a patch from awhile back because I was just reinstalling after not having it on my computer for weeks.)

She did have me enable safe mode downloading.  It DID work.   Please try that everyone!

this is still an issue....current estimated time to complete download is 116 hours...

Great to see another game I payed for to play that I cant play. I only get like a hour or two at most to play each day. 

Safe mode did it! Thank you whoever posted above with that tip!

Current DL time is now under 20 minutes.
