Xbox One BC server issue; PC fixes don’t help.

Have the Ultimate Edition. The server problem that has apparently existed since July (!!!), is preventing me from accessing the majority of the DLC that comes with the Ultimate Edition, thus I cant access any of my old game saves, thus the game is broken more or less; it’s in an unplayable state.

Are there any work arounds for a user who is trying to play DA:O in BC format on an Xbox One using the Xbox 360 2-disc Ultimate Edition release?

Is there a time table on when this issue will be resolved? From my research into this problem I’ve easily ascertained that this is not an issue on the user end or on MS’ and or Sony’s end either.

Again, PC fixes are not applicable to me. Thank you.

  • Somehow I have resolved this issue.

The server is still down, but I got the game to recognize the dlc and was then able to load my old saves.

Found these steps on a reddit post from late 2018 (again, I’m an Xbox One BC player using the PHYSICAL Ultimate Edition).

Not sure if I got lucky or even if all of these steps are necessary (shouldn’t seem to matter which disc you use, yeah?) - but it worked for me, and when I close the game and restart it, the DLC is still accessible.

    1. Completely uninstall your entire Origins folder. Base game, all DLC. You DO NOT have to clear your saves out.

    2. Install Origins (the base game) and all the DLC from <DISC 2>

    3. Uninstall the base game and only the base game, then eject <DISC 2>

    4. Put in <DISC 1> and reinstall the base game, then eject  <DISC 1>

    5. Go into Settings; Disc and Blu-ray.

Select Blu-ray and then select Clear Persistent Storage. Clear the Persistent Storage 5 times.

    6. Close Settings and hold the power button on your XB1 for a hard shut off.

Wait until the light on the power brick turns orange (if your model has a power brick), and then unplug the power cable from the input on the the back of the console for a few minutes.

    7. Plug the power cable back in and boot up the console.

    8. Insert <DISC 2> and boot up the game. You should now have access to your DLC even with the server offline.
