Okay, slight amendment. The spoiler listed previously does apply. I am so disappointed!! I've wanted to romance Lucanis since Tevinter Nights and was over the moon when I found he would be a companion..... and then it turns out to be the least romantic relationship that BioWare have ever done. I don't get it! How can they go from doing amazing romances in three DA games... even DA2 ... to this unbelievably trite relationship...not even going to use the word romance because it's really not. There's a couple of nice words but no kiss and nothing to show they like each other. What a kick in the backside!

I'm adding a second comment in reply to all the others... quite simply YES to everything. How could BioWare establish a book club and not think that would make a great scene to show Rook interacting with all the companions. It's such a shame because in many respects they've made a great game, but as a Dragon Age game they've dropped the ball in regards to companions and romances.

I think this is the crux of the issue, or even a lot of the issues. Rook feels a thousand miles away from the companions, but they don’t address it the way Varric did with the Wicked Grace game in Inquisition. We’re just meant to listen to all these conversations and pretend Rook is somehow included in the banter by proxy, so they’re all great friends. But they aren’t, not with Rook. Rook can’t do anything with a companion unless they’re summoned with an exclamation point, and even then you’re just as likely getting a scene where you just arrange a better friendship or romance between two companions, not developing Rook’s connection with them.
It’s sad, really sad. I just don’t think it’s intended to be sad, because the game keeps pretending there’s something there for Rook to cling to to prove they matter to these people.

Yeah, what if Rook wants to be in the book club too? Talk about being left out (and I'm assuming Rook wasn't even told about the club - only finding it out through notes! In my head that screams bullying). ): That really broke my heart, given everything Rook does for the team.
And also, I agree with everything in this thread.I think there's a distinct lack of touching through the game, not only with the ROs. I mean, barely even a pat on the back? Or a hug? It feels a bit cold, and again like the team keeps Rook at arms lenght, on purpose. I expected a lot more spice, to be honest (not to sound too thirsty but I'm seriously dissapointed lol).
Especially with Lucanis, given the slow burn - it barely even burns in the end. Totally understandable now that he might need some extra time, but come on... If that was the case he shouldn't be romanceble at all - granted, I would totally hate that. I mean, not even a kiss on the cheek when you lock in his romance?! Is a little hug to much to ask?
To me beneath all the trauma, Lucanis doesn't strike me as a tame and/or akward person, if you get my drift. He seems passionate about everything else so why not Rook? I mean, their first kiss happens less than 24 hours (i assume) before the final showdown. If it were up to me, my Rook would climb their partner like a tree, it might be their/our last chance like ever.
Also, I don't (and won't) accept anything romancerelated with the PC and RO happening behind the scenes. It's like that old saying (atleast it was a thing in Sweden when fb was new) - if it's not on facebook it didn't happen.
And the whole Neve and Lucanis thing? Just ugh. Especially if we save Minrathous and everything that comes with that.I was really looking forward to the romance parts. ): Buuuut atleast we get to hug Assan whenever we want, and he's adorable.

It's really weird. I could have sworn there was a toggle to turn nudity on or off, but... why? There's no scenes or anything. What would we need to toggle nudity off for?

Yeah, I think I'm going to ask for a refund for false advertising about nudity and sexual themes.

I think it's solely because you can have your female body be topless with undies in the character creator. My first Rook was non-binary (I'm doing a reluctant run to successfully romance Lucanis this time). I chose to give my Rook the tank and undies option, because that felt the most practical to me -- that strapless bra is never going to stay up while running around. When I hit the Davrin/Rook sex scene they were making out in their underwear, so I bet if you had the topless undies option, you get **bleep**. And we all know female nipples = nudity, the barest minimum possible (no pun intended). Everything is just flat out weak.

Yeah, I get the fact that they would want to stay away from having frontal nudity - everybody would be unhappy with something about it for certain, but they can still go with back and side nudity for both sexes in tons of different positions for scenes... is it lack of imagination? I mean, they've done it before in other games they've made. In fact, the last game they made - Andromeda ... well, I forget about Anthem - anyway, they had back and side nudity in the Ryder/Cora, Ryder/Peebee scenes. And, to make this call after seeing the success of BG3 is very questionable to me. If you're going to rate the game mature, then make it mature.
