Leave your prejudice in the Fade. The Veil has torn
The negative judgment is clearly driven by a shared stance rooted in discomfort towards non-binary people. Most of the reviews are misleading and written by people who haven’t actually played this game—maybe just the first five minutes. I read that someone called it "Disney-like," but perhaps that player hasn’t seen the Hoosberg Swamps, post-devastation Minrathous, or even the Necropolis. As for the “shallow dialogue”? Maybe there’s some functional illiteracy going around. The characters are incredibly well-developed and deep; they all interact with each other, creating unique dynamics. The game and gameplay are smooth and well-animated. To be understood and appreciated, a game needs to be played in its entirety—including all the side missions, which add depth, emotion, story, and bring all the pieces together. I finished it in tears. I’ve played every title, and since I romanced Solas in Inquisition, what happens—thanks to completing the side quests and the Crossroads—between him and the Inquisitor at the end of Veilguard moved me deeply. The voice acting is masterful; the emotions and intentions are truly immersive. The maps are highly detailed, and you can create a variety of playstyles. For me, it’s a 9/10 game. Those who complain about the lack of open world clearly haven’t explored the maps, which are vast and easy to get lost in. That said, there are things that could’ve been done better, like how some of the returning characters were handled. A few left a bitter taste in my mouth because of how differently they were designed. I would have liked to see crafting return, but the upgrade mechanics are still solid. I also would’ve liked to rely more on character tactics. All in all: PLAY IT, and then we’ll talk. Immerse yourself in the story, don’t go in with prejudice because of a community that’s taken a stance against the character Taash and their identity. I want to emphasize that their story is incredibly deep—a journey of self-discovery, seeking maternal approval, and ultimately feeling truly themselves.I don’t know if those who created and brought this game to life (with such emotion) will ever read this post... But know this: Your work was not in vain. The result is outstanding. Be proud of Veilguard and of yourselves. Thank you. ____ [EA_Garrus] Moved from DA IT to DA EN Boards. I just wanted to take a moment to express how truly amazing this game is. From start to finish, it has everything a gamer could ask for – a fantastic story that had me hooked right from the very beginning, great combat music, engaging puzzles, incredible voice acting, captivating cut scenes, and dialogue that shines, especially during the closing scenes when every character has their final say. The last few chapters were particularly enjoyable for me because, unlike most end levels where you face extremely difficult bosses, this game strikes a perfect balance between combat and storytelling. The conclusion, with the camera seamlessly swinging from one character to another without any cuts, combined with the stunning graphics and orchestral music, had my heart pounding and my hair standing on end. That, to me, is the sign of a truly compelling game. Kudos to everyone involved in making this game – I thoroughly enjoyed it. On a side note, I found two trophies to be particularly challenging. The first one is 'Enhancements,' where you have to fully level up certain armor. I was at the point of no return, having completed every side quest but still hadn't found a gold legendary primary weapon. Despite opening numerous chests and maxed-out merchants, it remained elusive. I eventually returned to the map and searched for unopened chests, finally discovering one in the Wetlands on the stairs whisp puzzle in the ruined castle. The second challenging trophy was 'Clear Minds Open Hearts.' I only realized at the point of no return that I hadn't made the right choices in the conversation during the quest 'Regrets Of The Dread Wolf,' which made my heart sink. After investing 50 hours into the game, missing out on the trophy was a major disappointment. Fortunately, I had a save point that took me back to that quest, but it only had me with 4 out of the 5 items needed to progress. The last item was locked behind blite, which required a 'Champions Of Essence' rune to access. After many more hours of gameplay, I finally found the rune I needed after defeating a boss, retrieved the final piece, and made a save before the conversation. Phew, that was frustrating. So, my advice to anyone playing this game is to ensure you make the right choices during the conversation at the end of the quest "Regrets Of The Dread Wolf." It will save you so much time. By the way, is it wrong I had a bit of a thing for Neve haha 🤣 Thanks again to everyone involved in creating this game – it's one of the most enjoyable games I've ever played 🙂👍🏆Dragon Age: Veilguard not part of EA Play Pro
I can't find the correct information anywhere on this. I played through the free trial version (5 hours), which is available for free on EA Play. Now, I wish to continue playing the game and I am wondering whether or not the FULL version of the game is accessible through the EA Play Pro subscription.SolvedSo I Finally got to the Romance scene...
So I got my female human rogue to the romance scene with Neve. and well in said scene (a scene by the way one could say is far worse then the "romance" scences in Mass Effect) Does my topless female human Rogue look like she has a mans body x.x lol (i play on xbox series x) Veilguard is a great game, I so far love the story and the Varric story line shocked me! That said there are of course some things in this game that make me scratch my head or just not like it. Biggest gripe is Bioware said there would be topless nudity and in the char creator they did this, via the option to just have your female char wear bottom underwear. You then start to play, and get new armor. And if you are like me, you take your old chest peice off, thinking your char will be wearing nothing under but her underwear. Well wrong she is fully covered, And to find out the only time you see the toplessness is in a 30 second [removed] romance scene. Guess I am saying what was the point of Bioware/Ea in giving you/me the option of full toplessness just to make it so you can't run around the game killing [removed] with just pant armor LOL. Guess they just said there would be topless nudity to try to see copies of the game to then say hey suckers we lied to you again! (cm edit removed language)Veilguard - Rogue - Unable to use bow
I've tried everything I can think of to use a bow...as a Rogue...but I cannot seem to figure it out. Why did they make it so complicated?! I've checked the settings, I am set to a Rogue in Controls -> Class Bindings I have hit the "X" key, which is the key bind to change to the secondary weapon...nothing happens I've left-clicked, right-clicked...nothing works. Can someone provide me exact, step-by-step instructions on how to use a bow? I am clearly not able to comprehend this incredibility difficult mechanic of the game.[Discussion] Dragon Age The Veilguard - Share Your Rooks!
Hey Rooks, Now that Dragon Age The Veilguard is out 🐲 I’m curious about what unique and fun characters everyone has made (if you're not stuck perfecting them in character creator!) Once you've finished creating them, let everyone else see them below![Feedback] Edit the appearance of the Inquisitor after locking in
I speed past the customisation of rook and went straight into the game without realizing the Inquisitor would make an appearance and could be edited in the customisation screen. I don't need to edit the story, just the way they look. I also wish to save appearances so I could start a new playthrough and save my rook or Inquisitors looks. That's all I ask to be able to use the mirror on the Inquisitor at least onceLucanis Romance Super Disappointing
I had to stop bringing Neve with me because he flirts so obviously with her and gives me scraps. Being one of the clear forefront winners for romance before the release, wtf were the writers thinking? It's honestly bumming me out so hardcore how I get literally nothing from this man and I was so excited to try out enemies to lover, tortured spirit, anything but man... If the writers just wanted him to date the other characters instead of Rook then why even make him romancable? I'm more than 20 hours in and beyond the coffee date scene (and picking the right choice since Im also playing a crow) I've gotten BARELY ANYTHING. I truly hope this gets fixed in the future because I think there is enough commotion on reddit and elsewhere to bring it to attention. I get this isn't any Larian but c'mon, romances are one of the biggest things in DA. PLEASE GIVE US A REAL LUCANIS ROMANCE. UPDATE: After finishing the game yesterday I just wanted to share my thoughts. I see what angle they were trying to go down with Lucanis, like an absence makes the heart grow fonder type thing and I don’t actually hate the romance once you get towards later in the game. It truly is the first act into beginning of second act that needs work and too much Neve connection that was clearly more priority then whatever was happening with Rook dialogue. Playing as a Crow Mage I think gave me better options and just never ever putting Neve and him together period is how I was able to get through it. I truly think there needs to be some sort of blocker between Neve and Lucanis where whatever flirty banter stops the moment you choose to romance one of them however and I hope that gets patched in because it really does ruin the dynamic, more interest needs to actually be shown to Rook, you know, the **bleep** main character. Because everyone’s right, you just feel like a third wheel if you want to include Neve in your party with him and it sucks I had to basically bench her (and clearly volunteered her for certain choices but also think that works for her hardened character tbh). I hope they actually listen to their players for once because this game could be great, I liked the main story, graphics are gorgeous, but character development is so important and I think they dropped the ball hard on that with Rook and her connections to her team in general on top of the romance.
