Replying here to follow the thread for updates as well. I have a 30-40 hour (very slow and methodical playthrough) and have hit this bug. I cannot interact with 3-Dot chests, any Eluvian Alters, or Dread Wolf Alters. The dagger also only shows up in the paused character screen. It's not visible in game at all when unpaused. Most of my issues I've ran into are in Arlathan forest; but I've been too frustrated to try going back to any older saves. - I work 50-60 hours a week; so getting stuck by this game breaking bug is extremely frustrating. - There shouldn't be a fix for this in the next patch........... IT SHOULD BE UPDATED VIA HOTFIX within 24-48 hours of several dozens of ppl reporting the same problem. I'd wager for every post here, there's 10-20+ ppl or more having the same issues but just not posting here.
Please fix this soon. I very much wanted to complete this game; but there's no way to do so without skipping a lot of content and side stuff. - I don't even know if a main story quest will be locked because of this. I have yet to make it to the Siege of Weisshaupt which fixed it for some people; but most say the "fix" goes away after that quest and goes back to being bugged.
Can someone over at EA please give 1 single ounce of attention to actually fixing this issue/bug? - If the Dagger is only usable in certain regions after certain quests, that should be outlined in some fashion. Just continually ignoring ppl on multiple forums does nothing to reassure a solution will be put in place.
Platform: Steam - (PC)
Bug: Eluvian Dagger not usable on any 3 dot chests or various altars, (most checked in Arlathan Forest); & the dagger does not show as equipped on the game screen, only shows in the paused Character Screen. - I can still use the dagger for my companion skills, but nothing for Altars or 3-Dot Chests.
