[Feedback] Cancel Hip fire Key bind PC

On PC, if you change "shift" from the "sprint" keybind in also changes the hidden "cancel hipfire" keybind making it impossible to leave the menu unless you reset the keybinds.
Has anyone found a way to edit the keybinds in the files or find a way to contact support to see if they can add "cancel hipfire" to the list of keybinds or add it to the sprint keybind and make it a joint keybind "sprint/cancel hipfire"?

This is a mistake that should have been addressed earlier. And before anyone says to just use a controller, because the game was designed for it, I haven't used a controller for anything beyond walking simulator and pokemon games, for nearly 15 years and you are missing the point. I shouldn't be forced to use a specific input. I should be able to use whatever is comfortable to me.

    Interesting!
I changed "Sprint" to "Shift" when I created my first Rook and it worked fine, but I just tested this and you are right, rebinding "Shift" now will also rebind "Cancel Hipfire" and that can't be changed because there is no option in the menu.
(Cancel hipfire doesn't do anything at all, as far as I can see, which makes this even more annoying).

So this must have been introduced by a patch. You might want to post a Bug report at the new Forum.

    For the workaround:

    • Go to the "Documents\Bioware\Dragon Age The Veilguard\settings" folder.
    • Make a backup of the "ProfileOptions_profile"
    • Open the "ProfileOptions_profile" file with a text editor.
    • Search for the "GstKeyBinding.BasePlayer.ConceptPower3.0.button" line. It has 3 occurrences in the file and a value of 42. (42 = keyboard scan code for Shift.)
    • Change 42 to 95 for all 3 instances (95 = keyboard scan code for numpad 7.)
    • Save the file.

Now you can change the "Shift" key in the game settings as you see fit.

If you use numpad 7 for something else or if you want to set it to another key, here is a google doc of keyboard scan codes.
(You need to use the decimal number. (Dec)

Thank you so much for the info!

I had, previously, tried to find the keybind in the "ProfileOptions_profile" file, but I hadn't able to find any info regarding which label was for "cancel hipfire."
I will try/use the workaround until they bring back the option to edit or unbind the cancel hipfire option.

I will submit a bug report and hopefully they can fix this.

    @IkanoKato

    You're welcome!

Btw, positive side-effect, cancel Hip Fire actually works now after I did this in my game.
