I don't mind an age gap romance at all, I just wish we had the option to decide whether we wanted it to be one or not
Blackwall is probably the oldest romance in the previous games and even if you're playing as a young inquisitor, there's never a weirdness to the age dynamic.
I feel Emmerich's romance is off-putting for me because of the teacher-student dynamic that it gives. Their maturity levels seemed too different for it to feel like a potentially even partnership and instead felt creepy. But I didn't go through with a romance so that might change. But the initial vibes were not it for me
