All things considered, I'll take it. I have already broken down my feelings about this game 5,000 times, defending it against all comers. I adore it. It is my favorite of the four, just edging out DA:2.
The ending sequence of this game, from Tearstone on, crushes all of the previous games. That was absolutely outstanding. Thank you for having the courage to call out Origins for its flaws. The torches and pitchforks will be outside your door in short order. Honestly, I played the first three in reverse, so I could only stand one run of Origins. I just wanted to know the meaning behind my options in Dragon Age Keep.
With the romances, it really depends who you went for. If you're the "needier type", Taash or Harding. If you want a traditional experience, Emmrich, Davrin, Neve. If you want to feel like you're irrelevant, Bellara or Lucanis. lol I am aware you don't get the Inquisition relationship routine: Flirt your tail off, profess your interest or love, prove it with a gift, deal with a potential deal breaker, overcome it, making your relationship stronger, smooch a bunch until the end of the game, then do a thing in The Tresspasser. lol DA:2 had the best relationships, especially with their "nemesis system", no LOTR. I was full aggro with Merrill and she was still "frequenting my mansion". lol

I love DA Origins – it's one of my top 5 video games of all time. But I think all the sequels have been worthy in their own way and I was satisfied with how Veilguard turned out. I agree, the whole finale from Tearstone on was some of the most suspenseful and engaging the series has ever been. Having been in this fight, as it were, for 15 years, I also felt invested in this world by now. I enjoy other RPG series like the Elder Scrolls, Fallout etc but few worlds have gripped me like Thedas.
Heh, I did fall for Bellara and I did feel like it never really got going, especially compared to all the intimacy scenes in previous games. But there was a happily ever after of sorts where I was happy to leave the characters, and what you're saying makes me want to replay the game at some point and make different choices.
I may want to do that anyway because I chose Davrin and Assan to lead the charge at Tearstone. I couldn't believe it for the whole story finale until the credits rolled and I still haven't recovered. But the alternative would have destroyed me as well.
