Bug in regrets of the dread wolf?

I’ve found all of the statuettes but one.  The one I need is near that marketplace, the one with the whips and spirits, in the crossroads (Converged City).  I guess when you get to that part of it a cutscene is supposed to happen?  When I tried it the cutscene never happened, I ran up to the door it said to go through and it said to “open from the other side”.  And then it wants me to go through a door nearby, but that requires a champion’s essence.  I need help with this.  I don’t know where to get a champion’s essence.
