Button Config Customization Logic Issue

Perhaps I am missing something, but I am having an issue On PS5 with customizing the controls.

The affected default settings (for mage character) are:

• R1: Ability Wheel
• R2: Hip Fire
• L2: Ability Short Cuts
• L2 + R2: Companion Ability

As a user, I would like to switch the the Ability shortcut to R2 so that my ability selection is on one side and Defend and Hip fire are on the other.

When I try to change them (For example, Making R2 the Ability Shortcut button) this undoes the binding for both Ability Short cut AND companion ability short cut (L2+R2). Because the binding assumes the prempting holding of L2 the only input it takes is the +R2. Since the game does not let me proceed without assigning a button to the Companion ABility,  I am essentially blocked from changing the ability score button or attaching ANYTHING to R2.
