Was playing through the game as normal and suddenly I can't interact with certain objects in the crossroads- namely so far, Evanuris Altars, Fen'Harel Altars and one of those big chests. I don't know what changed, but they're not glowing to open/use them and there's no interactable button. I've tried reloading the save and leaving the area then coming back and nothing is fixing it.Earlier in the game they were working.edit: it's not JUST in the crossroads, it's everywhere.

Ok figured it out there is a fix gotta complete chapter 8 if it’s already happened…once you complete chapter 8 do not and I repeat DO NOT touch the EVANURIS Altars they are the problem… if you are past chapter 8 you will have to wait for a patch or restart…hope this helps

  Yeah, so as has been mentioned in this thread before. The “complete chapter 8” fix isn’t a fix. The bug will reoccur upon further progression.
  
  Additionally, not being able to use the Evanuris altars IS part of the bug here. So saying to not touch the Evanuris altars is basically saying “don’t do the thing you can’t do and that should fix you not being able to do it.” Get what I mean?

Everyone in here needs to go and make your own separate posts about this issue. It would seem the only way we’re gonna get these people to take notice of this game breaking bug is to make them understand it’s not isolated to just this post. Because I think they’ve internally marked this post as resolved or something

Kinda crazy that almost two weeks have passed since people have brought this bug to EA's attention, a game-breaking bug that locks out a TON of side content and loot. I saw there was a patch this morning and got excited but nope. EA_Illium please provide SOME kind of an update as to when this will be fixed.

  Pretty sure Illium is a bot. Hasn’t actually responded to anyone. Just posted messages that could easily be canned responses and announcement type stuff.

I also have this same problem. The really "big" chests don't even "glow" as I approach them. Also the wolf statues that you are supposed to use the dagger on, etc... Ughh... For me this seemed to start almost immediately after the patch.

Does anyone know if this bug recurs? I've got a bugged save, but it's early enough that I wouldn't mind restarting if I knew it wouldn't happen again. Does anyone know if this bug occurs over multiple characters, or is it usually limited to just one save?

  I've started over a bunch of times and every single character has had the bug, at some point. I even tried switching from the Steam version to the EA Play Pro version. Still bugged.

  it occurs over multiple characters. Someone below said they made 3 separate characters, all of whom eventually encountered the bug. Putting the game down until they fix it is your best bet.

Same bug for me. Noticed it for the first time with Evanuris statue in the caves in Dock Town. Also in Hoss Wetlands. Chapter 8 allowed me to open a single Chest before it broke again. Back to being unable to do unique chests or statues :(

  So for me it was 2 hours ago when I finished Chapter 8. I just did a walk around all the areas where the big boxes were and everyone left. Yeah, so I have no idea what's going on and when they'll finally fix it properly :( It's really tedious...

    Yeah so that’s not gonna last. A few people have already mentioned that “fix” where it “starts working again” but once you progress further it goes right back to not working.

I'm now in chapter 8! arrived. Suddenly the dagger works and I can open EVERYTHING that I couldn't activate with the dagger before. The big boxes suddenly light up like a Christmas tree and so do the altars. I've just gotten everything that I couldn't do before, because it might not work in a quest later... So I have no idea where the problem is, but as someone here already mentioned, as soon as I've completed Chapter 8, everything works Dagger things. No idea how long. So as soon as you've completed Chapter 8, get everything at once ;)
I still hope that it gets fixed so that I don't have the same problem with another class.

I also have this bug, not sure when it happened. I then progressed past Weisshaupt, and the Lyrium Knife reappeared. I then did Lucanis' mission, Bloodbath, and somewhere during it or after, the knife disappeared again. I had the dagger after talking to his cousin, but it disappeared before I reached the final boss of the area.
