Can't Progress the Main Questline (Fire and Ice)
Like others on this forum I can't progress past "Fire and Ice" on PC, which means I can't continue playing the game - I can defeat the dragons, I get the cutscene with Elgernan and Ghilanain, and I can talk to Evka and Antoine afterwards. But then the screen goes black for a while, and I end up at the Lighthouse.
- There is no dialogue/cutscene at the lighthouse
- There is no new main quest
- I can't fast travel anywhere because the game says I am still doing "Fire and Ice" even though there is no quest in my journal.
A long while back I had similar issues with "Regrets of the dreadwolf" where I watched all the memories and triggered the visitor. However, I noticed that I missed out on some companion dialogue, so I went back to a save, talked to my companion and then continued the last mural. However, the last mural doesn't work, so I can't finish the Quest or trigger the visitor. Placing the final wolf statue makes the mural appear, but no cutscene with solas/mythal or companions. The screen goes black, can't travel anywhere or follow another quest because I am still doing "regrets of the dreadwolf" even though I can't complete it. It wasn't a main quest so I just decided to leave it be. But I've heard that people who had issues with "fire and ice" had a similar problem with "regrets of the dreadwolf" as well.
What I've done:
- Tried going back to earlier saves (further and further back as far as I would be willling to replay)
- Tried setting my graphics to low and restarting the game
Going back several days worth of progression is not a solution for me, I did "regrets of the dreadwolf" a long time ago. This needs to be fixed because this is a game breaking bug!
