Clothing Quick Change During Hardings Lock In Scene

Minor bug. During Hardings romance lock in cutscene if you are wearing anything that has alternative colors, such as the dextrous leathers, you get a magical clothing color change part way through the scene. I started the scene with the Tevinter style and ended it looking like a grey warden.

  • This is my second playthrough, but it's the first time I've romanced Harding, so it's the first time I've got the romance version of these scenes where Rook appears lyrium poisoned.  I did not notice any armour colour changes in my first playthrough or at other points in this playthrough so far.

This affect occurs consistently when the save is reloaded and at the exact same point in the cutscenes of both 'The Bond Rekindled' (Harding romance lock-in) and at the end of 'The Heart of the Titan' (romanced + compassion version).

I have repeatedly reloaded a convinient save and tried multiple armours and appearances.  I managed to replicate the bug with the following for the Harding romance lock-in scene:

    - Minrathous Citizen's outfit (Nevarra) - Appearance
    - Footsoldier's Armaments (Arlathan) - Appearance
    - Insulated Suit (Dalish) - Appearance
    - Watchers Robes (brown and white versions) - Appearance
    - Pursuant's Implements (Dalish) - Appearance
    - Pursuant's Implements  - Medium Armor - No appearance applied
(Limited to armours my character had already unlocked)

Unique armours with no colour variants seem unaffected.

At a guess, it looks like the armours that have multiple faction colourways are reverting to a specific default colourway, the timing co-inciding with the transition to a lyrium-veined Rook.

Thanks for sharing your feedback! We appreciate all the details on Harding's lock-in scene. Did you by chance load up a previous save and test it again wearing anything else?

We'll pass it on to the team so they can check it out and continue making the game even better for everyone!

    Cheers!

I also experienced the same issue and can confirm this occurs with Footsoldier's Armaments (Arlathan) armour appearance, which changed colours during the Harding romance lock on scene as well as during the cutscene at the end of a romanced Harding's 'The Heart of the Titan' quest. In both instances it is shortly before the player character starts showing lyrium veins.

Is this your first playthrough? Did this happen on any other playthroughs that you noticed?
Did you happen to load a previous save and see if it came out to the same effect?
Do you have a specific appearance set or a default armor style appearance set?

WeaselOnADragon This is great thank you! I sent over the info you gave me. Hopefully, it's something that can just be updated on the backend, but we shall see. I was trying to reproduce it myself, but it wouldn't do it for me. This is fantastic though. I love the detailed information like this. It helps out the team so much!
