I can get halfway through characters creation before it freezes everything. I have to shut down the entire pc. Was worried that it was my PC since the shaders took forever to load. But my pc runs BG3 on ultra for everything without a problem and my cpu and graphics card are handling it easy.
Anyone else having this problem and found a solution?
I have the same issue here. After about 10 minutes of gameplay, the screen freezes, but I still hear gameplay. I've also been fiddling around with the graphics setting, as I've read that people have fixed their issue by turning off upscaling, but unfortunately, that hasn't worked for me. All drivers are up to date

I crashed at shaders and about 20 mins in. The game is using an insane amount of memory. I saw mine at 17 mil memory.
I'm having this same problem, this same pop-up(directx) every 20 or 30 minutes of gameplay. Please fix this soon.
It's frustrating having to resort to using tricks to deal with this problem. And for those of us who don't have English as our mother tongue, it's even more complex
I have the same. I get about halfway through character creation, usually to about when I'm choosing a class, and then everything freezes. I just upgraded my computer. Graphics driver is updated. All other apps and overlays are disabled. Game run as administrator. But still the same issue.
