Dragon Age the Veilguard disk making crunching when put into ps5.

I bought a physical version from Amazon for my christmas but every time i was putting the disk in my ps5 it said it could not read it and even at one point said it wasnt a ps5 disk. Then i sent that back and bought one from Argos and it seemed to work fine for a day or 2 with just a slight ticking noise but when i woke up to play it the disk was grinding and crunching again. I have tried other game disks and ALL of them have played fine and didnt make a noise at all. But the minute i put Dragon Age in, it makes my ps5 sound like a machine gun and when i take my disk out it has a glue like line all the way around the outside. Is this a disk problem or a ps5 problem cause as i said all my other disks work fine.any help will be appreciated. Thanks.

613c1875ec61d69e That sounds more like a disc issue than a console issue if no other discs do it.

Does this happen on multiple playthroughs?
Does it happen only in certain areas of the game?

I had an issue where it sounded like crackling but it was in a certain area of the game and the moment I walked away from the area it stopped. What your describing sound more like misprinted discs than the game itself or the console. You would have to try to test the same disc on another console to see if it is the console.

  • It does seem like a disk problem. Sometimes it does it randomly while playing it. I can be walking around not fighting or even talking to characters and it just makes a loud crunch noise then sometimes it will say that the app has crashed and other times it says the disk need to be ejected. Then when i go to eject it the ps5 takes it as of there is no disk in and i have to restart the full ps5 and then it lets me eject it. I am going to keep trying it to see if it gets worse or if i can atleast finish the game. I mostly wanted to see if anyone else was having the same kind of issue. And also tried star wars outlaws disk and steller blade disk and they both work fine. So as you said seems like a disk problem.

  • I have also tested it on 2 other consoles and it was doing the same sort of noise. It seems like when the disk is slowing down it makes the noise. It also takes about 3 or 4 times of taking the disk out amd cleaning the glueish like stuff off it(it makes a ring around the full outside of the disk) no ither disk has this stuff on it even after hours of play.
