Sadly, I had to report back and say that after the new patch my game stopped working.. I was able to play for about a week with the updating the BIOS, deleting shader cache file (2459419382) and verifying my files fix, but I tried it again today and it's still crashing with my CPU usage at 100% again. I have no idea why this patch made my game stop working after I did that fix, but if anyone else has any more troubleshooting ideas please let me know :( I've gotten around 26 hours already.

Same, I got 20 hours into the game before the patch, and now I've just been banging my head against the screen since that patch went live.
2 days of trying different things finally led me here, so I'm glad to learn, I've just wasted 2 days worth of free time fixing the unfixable.

Not sure if this is a fix or will help, however I had about 30hrs of game time with zero crashes before the latest patch.
I had issues with shaders causing crashes in a previous game that uses the same engine, what help as a nvidia user was going into the nvidia control panel, manage 3d settings, global settings, then change "Shader Cache Size" to unlimited.
After this setting, delete the shader folder, verify game files then you should go without crashing.

Unfortunately I think the latest patch has made this worse for me on PC. Before I was able to play without issues, but after 1.0.0 I've had constant crashes that happen so randomly, I have no idea what the trigger is.

Reporting back that a bios update did in fact correct the problems I’ve been having with crashes at launch and general instability in the brief periods that I was able to get the game to run. I’m on PC, Asus PRIME Z790-P WIFI, with a GeForce RTX 4080 and an I9 processor.
I had tried all the other fixes recommended in this thread, finally bit the bullet and performed the Bios update. On launching DAV for the first time after the update I was able to see the shaders load to 100% for the first time and I’ve been playing without issue for about 3 hours now. No issues with restarting and loading current save file. - NotQuesadilla2 years agoRising Rookie
I tried this and my computer blue-screened :( I'm just gonna wait and hope for another patch.

Make sure your bios is up to date as well. between this and the above I'm now back to playing for as long as I want with no crashes.
I can't remember if it was the same engine, but turning off cloud saves within Steam was another fix I stumbled across, so try that as well.

I have tried everything you suggested plus some. I've updated the bios, the drivers, deleted shader cache, reinstalled the game a few times on internal and external drives. Restarted the pc several times and changed security settings several times - Nothing is working. I just bought the game yesterday. Here's all the other info I can provide.

I fixed my crashing issue by changing my power settings following this guide I found: https://www.gamepressure.com/newsroom/dragon-age-veilguard-with-good-performance-but-watch-your-cpu-tem/z074d1
My only issue was that my CPU usage would go over 100% and crash my entire system, so hopefully this works for others as well. I also made sure to delete that shader file and verify my game again too!
