Nope patch didn't help at all... Still restarting my pc...

Patch does not help. Game has been causing full system restarts since release.
System Specs:
- 4080 super
- i7-13700k
- 32GB DDR5 6000MHz
- 2TB NVMe
- 1000W PSU
- Windows 11 24H2
Event Viewer doesn't show anything useful. There doesn't seem to be any one thing or action in the game that causes it. I can play for 5 minutes or I can play for 2 hours before a crash. Tried re-installing (before the patch came out and after the patch) and tried recompiling shaders.
My GPU pulls around 300W and my CPU pulls anywhere from 120-180W (lets just go with 200W). That's 500W so it's not a PSU issue. Plenty of head room unless this game is causing power spikes over 500W.
This is the only game that causes this. I have played other intensive games recently (Alan Wake II) with all setting at the highest (using DLSS Performance + Frame Gen + Path Tracing) with no system issues. - NotQuesadilla12 months agoRising Rookie
The patch didn't do anything for me either. If anything, it seems to have made it worse. I used to be able to play for 1-2 hours and now I can't get through 5 minutes.

Game is still crashing when verifying shaders for me

Same issue, the patch didn’t help at all.

The patch hasn't fixed it for me. I'm kind of managing right now after a second bios update (I had to ask an IT friend to do it for me because the one I've done has not solved it at all; the internet was unhelpful as to what I was doing wrong :D), opening the game through the GeForce experience rather than Steam itself, and doing so in windowed mode only.
I have to verify the integrity of the game files every time, and then delete the shaders it downloaded again, and then start it through GeForce. It still occasionally crashes in game, but at least it starts, and I get a few good hours of play before the crash. - Siirulinen12 months agoNew Rookie
Hello guys just wanted to share with you maybe somehow fix this issue 🤔 well I haven't had seen game or even loading screen...always end ups with PC restart but after the update still didn't work.... Today I tried again uninstall the game and now I'm in the compiling shaders so let's see if I can play the game! But try uninstalling after update that came out. maybe it will work?

Welp I was in character creation and back to the old problem that game is just crashing my pc...

Patch changed nothing. Downloaded it, loaded my save (which has always been crashing during the conversation with Varric after disrupting the ritual) and it crashed my entire PC, once again, INSTANTLY. Didn't even get 30 seconds into the dialogue.

Nope worse now cannot get game to work at all now none of the fixes work at all turning off hardware acceleration removing overlays deleting shader file. Etc etc. Would be nice to play the game again I managed to play for a good chunk of the game but now it just will not start at all.
