Dragon Age: Veilguard does not start on PS5 (CE-108255-1)

I bought and installed Veilguard earlier today on the PS store but after a complete installation the game crashes immediately after the photosensitivity with error CE-108255-1.

I tried googling but so far I was only able to find a couple of threads on reddit without a clear issue description and no fix. So far I’ve contacted EA support and the agent suggested I made a post here.

Steps taken so far:

  • Reinstalled the game
  • Ran the game with forced performance mode 
  • Cleared cache and rebuild the database from safe mode
  • Did another reinstall of The Veilguard
  • Did a storage check in safe mode
  • Another reinstall of The Veilguard
  • Did a factory reset
  • And another reinstall
  • edit: forgot to mention that I’m running the latest version of PS5 OS and did a full reinstall of the OS from USB. Still no dice after the 5th reinstall

During each crash I’ve send a report. The PS5 is less than 4 weeks old and other games run without issue so I’m pretty sure it’s not the device itself. I was wondering if anyone is aware of a fix or how to get further support?

  • I'm having this exact same issue, I reinstalled the game as well, sad since the game is brand new!

    Same still can't get it to run on ny ps5, it just crashes as soon as I go to boot it up.

  • I have similar problems and have gone to similar lengths. Did you by chance connect your EA account? I think that may be causing some of the issues.
