Game will not launch, closes immediately.

Hello, i have a 4090 and i9cpu 64 gb ram, All applications and graphics drivers updated. When i click launch on the game, it goes to a black screen (sometimes a screen with a purple loading circle in the corner) then it closes. I repaired installation and now when i launch it, it just restarts my PC? Please can you help me solve this?

  • Ok I got a solution:

I started the game without the newest drivers, then updatet and still couldn't start.

Try to delete the content of the shader_cache folder. I was able to start the game afterwards.

Is the game not laggy for you after doing that? I got mine working doing the same thing but would get frame drops every time a new person/object moved onto the screen.

Yes it became stuttery for me too, then I removed shader files piece by piece and found a few problematic ones, then all of a sudden when I started the game Dragon Age verified my shaders. And now the game works like intended.

Don't know if it helps but the following files were problematic for me:
        1525044510.PcDx12
        2650002834.PcDx12
        2459419382.PcDx12

  • I'm having the same issue with a 3070, 14th gen i7 cpu, 64 gb ram. Updated and then reinstalled graphic driver, reinstalled game. Upon launch I get a black screen before it closes out or sometimes it restarts my PC.

  • Well I am able to play now, but there are a lot of stutters, even on low settings and the shader_cache is empty, which is probably why my game is stuttering.

So I verified the game files, which restored the shader_cache but also brought back the crash...

  • I believe it's a bios update issue, i am looking more in to the issue and will try and update. Basically the cache shaders and the bios of the computer is having some issue that requires an update to the bios.
