Lost 4 hours worth of playing on Steam, PC

Played this weekend on PC. Logged off saturday, saved a manual save and it said 8hrs playtime. Log on sunday, suddenly the save file is gone, and the most recent one is 4hrs of gametime..

Has anyone found a fix to this yet, or is there any official statement out acknowledging the problem?
