Missing Pre-Order Deluxe Bonus Items

OK, so I have been trying since this game came out to get this issue resolved. I pre-ordered the Deluxe edition of Veilguard and my bonus items are STILL listed as locked in the wardrobe. I have followed every troubleshooting step including uninstalling and reinstalling the game. It doesn't work! I tried loading an earlier autosave. Didn't work. Nothing worked, I still don't have access to my bonus items! I want that Blood Dragon armor, darn it! My warrior needs it!

    I'm in the same boat!! It's holding me back from completing this game and avoiding spoilers this whole time has been so hard already. I honestly have no idea if this is ever going to be fixed at this point.

    It worked recently for me; three new characters were created without issues ... 

    Chest spawned on your character's first visit to the lighthouse; it is your wardrobe until you set up your things in Rook's room and begin your first meditation with Solas. 

    The same issue has returned, along with another bit of annoyance see EA App on PC, Sign in to activate the game "Why?" | EA Forums - 5033713

    The image below is the characters where the content has been unlocked, and the corresponding savegame folders are characters 4 - 6 

    So far, any other characters I now create on the PC are in the same position as the first four attempts at trying to fix this issue, and hence why the character one has no original save, but I can probably recover it somewhere.

    All I am asking for is consistency regarding this. I don't mind if the chest/wardrobe with the bonus items " Pre-order and Deluxe"  is meant to unlock at a certain point in the game's progression, but if this is the case, then an official statement would be appreciated; otherwise, fix the issue if it is meant to unlock on first visit to the lighthouse.

    Yeah the randomness of it working is AFAIK happening to many people as well. 

    The good thing is I'm pretty sure this issue is related to those people where it has worked in some instances and for those of us who have never gotten it to work at all. 

    I've created 4 different heroes and it has not worked once. The only time it kind of worked was on my main playthrough where the chest spawned however no items were inside of it. 

    I really wish they would just make it work like the way they are adding the chests from the patches. As the N7 and Kirkwall Champion DLC has obviously worked for everyone.

    I will state my observations

    1. observe that the last character where the "pre-order and deluxe" DLC worked came in a little late, " slower than it usually did, so much so that I had gotten as far as opening. "N7 and Kirkwall Champion DLC".
    2. I was a little anxious, thinking it was broken again, but "Olsa Mercar, elf mage Shadow Dragons" was the last character to have working "pre-order and deluxe" DLC content.
    3. I was then playing the game and got booted out of Dragon Age Veilguard, and my EA App was weird. " This was during storm Darragh as it passed over the UK."
    4. When I relaunched the game, EA App, I suddenly saw pop-ups such as "renew EA Play" and "log in to active Dragon Age Veilguard," although these pop-ups are not constant " every time EA App starts or I start the game".

     

    I think it is connected for now, but I will probably need EA customer services to check my account.

  • I am having this issue as well. I have yet to see the Deluxe content in my game and this is my Second playthrough. EA app says I have the deluxe installed but I have zero evidence of that in game.

    Technically my "first" character crashed when leaving character creation: I failed to restart my computer between updating graphics drivers and hitting play. My bad- started over next day. So my first playthrough is actually the second character made. I got the notification about items, opened the chest and... nothing. None of the items showed up. Later on I got the N7 stuff but still no Deluxe things.

    A month ago people were saying second characters were where the issues were and only first characters got the items; so I figured it was an oversight EA would rectify fairly quickly now that it had been noticed. I was wrong.

    My current (and second) playthrough never even got the notification or chest and certainly not the items. But I got the N7 armor again and the Champions regalia came in just fine.

    It is actually ridiculous that there is no solution to this yet. I pre-ordered the Deluxe edition. I paid for these Items! Yet over a month in there is still no solution to this? I have paid for something I did not get. This needs to be fixed.

     

  • The only two things I have done recently to my system are 

    1. Update Windows 11  from 23H2 to 24H2 ( also a Windows repair install and keeping all my data, for other reasons)
    2. Update AMD GPU drivers

     

    I did not have to reinstall my EA App or Games

    These are the only recent changes made between working "pre-order and deluxe" DLC content and for it to suddenly stop again

    So far, I believe it to be a coincidence. 

  • I have fixed my issue with the missing DLC ( preorder and deluxe ) content, it turns out EA App will install a game using an EA Play licence first, even if you have it paid for separately

    my solution might not work for everyone in PC, but for me I had to uninstall and reinstall the game, once my EA Play subscription had expired

    I have also had the chest spawn once and only once. But alas, it was empty. None of my characters, and I have made 1 of each faction, has the DLC items.

    Unfortunately, this did not work for me as my last EA Play sub was well over a year ago and I have not seen the renew popup. I did try it, though, as it was worth a shot.

    Yeah this issue is still not fixed over 2 months from release. Last we heard was one of the EA community team members passed this issue to the team about 3 weeks ago. We just have to wait until there is an official patch that fixes this. I'm waiting for it before I continue playing anymore.
