Objective Marker can only be on/off ("Pulse" settings leave it on)

This is about the Objective Marker (the floating wayfinding icon, setting in Gameplay > Wayfinding), not the Objective Tracker (the HUD quest text, setting in Interface > HUD).

The two pulse settings ("Pulse (Short)" and "Pulse (Long)") are being ignored. The floating marker will (very rarely) go away, but it routinely pops up (typically when approaching the next waypoint) and will often just entirely persist on the screen, without the player ever initiating a ping. Toggling Waypoint Visibility on/off has no effect (it just changes whether you're seeing a diamond indicating the closest waypoint or the bigger icon marking the ultimate destination). Setting the Objective Marker to "Off" does disable it; setting it to "Always" does also work properly. It's only the two Pulse settings that seem to be behaving the same as (or very close to) Always.

Note that the Objective Tracker (HUD quest text) does respect its version of these settings; the problem seems to be exclusive to the Marker.

This branch of the discussion has been moved from here so it can be specifically about the Marker (icon), not the Tracker (text).
