Quest Last Rites Won't Progress

I am playing on PS5. I got the quest "Last Rites" and it tells me to destroy the crystals. When I have the quest actively selected, the chain of crystals I have to destroy appears, but destroying them does not progress the quest. I can see the body and the note I need to pick up, but it is not selectable. I cannot complete or progress past this point. When the quest is not actively selected, the barriers appear but do not have crystal chains and can easily be destroyed.

There is another quest that appears in the area. I must have destroyed the simple barriers while the other quest was selected, and now I cannot complete the quest because it's bugged. I progressed further in the game so I really don't want to have to reload an old save if I can get around it.
