Myself, and a number of other players have missed the chance to set gender/scar options - either being too eager to get back to the plot line, or because of believing the mirror can be accessed later...

Same here. I misunderstood the somewhat confusing explanation of how choosing something would end the conversation, and completely missed the chance to make my trans Rook actually be recognised by the game as trans. In my mind, it was gonna be a big part of their character journey so I'm gutted. I only just found out what I missed now I'm 20+ hours in so I don't wanna continue but also don't want to reload. Begging the devs to fix this tbh
